Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) — Marubeni Corp. and partners agreed to borrow 61 billion yen ($655 million) from Japan Bank for International Cooperation and three Japanese lenders for two copper mine projects in Chile.

RBA holds rates steady, issues upbeat assessment

TOKYO (MarketWatch) — The Reserve Bank of Australia left its cash rate unchanged at 3.0% after its policy meeting Tuesday, saying in a statement that its “present accommodative setting of monetary policy remains appropriate for the time being,” and that it will “continue to adjust monetary policy so as to foster sustainable growth in economic activity and inflation consistent with the target.” The Australian economy has been “stronger than expected,” the central bank said, noting resilience in consumer spending, exports and business investment. It cited growth in China, which it said has been “very strong,” as having a “significant impact” on regional economies and commodity markets
